Dynamic Facility Location with Stochastic Demand
Authors
Abstract:
Determination of facilities, such as factories or warehouses, location and availability conditions is one of the important and strategic decisions for an organization to make. Transportation costs that form a major part of goods price are dependent to this decision making. There are verity of methods have been presented to achieve the optimal locations of these facilities which are generally deterministic. In real world accurate estimation of the effective parameters on this optimal location for single or multiple time periods is difficult and merely impossible. In this research, we try to achieve an efficient model with consideration of uncertainty demand over different time periods on the basis of previously presented models that we call stochastic dynamic facilities location problem. In order to do so we use stochastic constrain programming which convert the stochastic model to a deterministic one. According to this conversion we can use the cutting edge standard algorithm and methods of programing to solve the model. Next we implement the presented model for a case study and solve the problem with MATLAB software and examine the efficiency of model. Implementation the presented model and analyzing the results cause better management and better control of changing facility status

Dynamic Facility Location with Stochastic Demands
In this paper, a Stochastic Dynamic Facility Location Problem (SDFLP) is formulated. In the first part, an exact solution method based on stochastic dynamic programming is given. It is only usable for small instances. In the second part a Monte Carlo based method for solving larger instances is applied, which is derived from the Sample Average Approximation (SAA) method.

W analyze the problem of optimal location of a set of facilities in the presence of stochastic demand and congestion. Customers travel to the closest facility to obtain service; the problem is to determine the number, locations, and capacity of the facilities. Under rather general assumptions (spatially distributed continuous demand, general arrival and service processes, and nonlinear location...
full textDynamic Coal Logistics Facility Location under Demand Uncertainty
In this paper, dynamic facility location and supply chain planning are studied through minimizing the costs of facility location, path selection and transportation of coal under demand uncertainty. The proposed model dynamically incorporates possible changes in transportation network, facility investment costs, operating cost and changes in facility location. In addition, the time variation and...
full textDynamic Inventory Planning with Unknown Costs and Stochastic Demand
Generally ordering policies are done by two methods, including fix order quantity (FOQ) and fix order period (FOP). These methods are static and either the quantity of ordering or the procedure of ordering is fixing in throughout time horizon. In real environments, demand is varying in any period and may be considered as uncertainty. When demand is variable in any period, the traditional and st...

This paper analyzes Perfect Bayesian Equilibria in dynamic monopolies with stochastic demand. It examines sequential take-it-or-leave-it o®ers and sequential auctions. It is shown that equilibria in the former mechanism trade-o® allocative e±ciency and competing buyers' opportunities to acquire an item to be sold, permitting prices and expected revenue above those of one-shot o®ers and sequenti...
full textA Simulated Annealing Methodology to Multiproduct Capacitated Facility Location with Stochastic Demand
A stochastic multiproduct capacitated facility location problem involving a single supplier and multiple customers is investigated. Due to the stochastic demands, a reasonable amount of safety stock must be kept in the facilities to achieve suitable service levels, which results in increased inventory cost. Based on the assumption of normal distributed for all the stochastic demands, a nonlinea...
